The Kentish Hotel in Waiuku has been the focal point of the town for many years. Built in the 1850’s by Edward Constable from Kent in England the Kentish is the oldest licenced hotel in New Zealand. With it’s ornate verandahs and as the backdrop to Waiuku’s history it just oozes character. When the current owners were planning to upgrade the outdoor lighting at the Kentish, they wanted something that wouldn’t detract from the character of the building while at the same time giving it the illumination it needed.
TransNet’s Ecolight range of LED lighting solutions offers the latest technology in LED lighting and gives excellent light levels while using less power.

The Kentish Hotel boasts twelve of the LEDFL09 Ecolights to illuminate four signs. These lights are quite small in size but they’re able to produce a lot of light and have been installed on the verandahs of the Kentish without imposing on the character of the filigree.
The Ecolight range is evolving all the time as technology advances, and currently includes floodlights, high and low bay commercial lights and streetlights. If the oldest pub in the country uses the latest LED lighting technology imagine where you’ll see it next.
